Become an Advocate
Thank you for your interest in becoming an Advocate with Eddy County CASA. Eddy County CASA is part of a national non-profit organization that trains volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children. Advocates are rewarded with some of the most powerful and gratifying volunteer experiences that can be found. CASA is the only organization that empowers everyday citizens as appointed officers of the court. An Advocate’s involvement makes a direct impact on a child’s life and perhaps for generations to come.
CASAs do not need to have experience with foster youth or the court system, just a desire to help children. We have an extensive interview process that begins with an application. Our in-house training program consists of a thirty hour curriculum and two sessions of court observation.
To be eligible to become a CASA, you must be at least 21 years of age, successfully complete the training program, and pass an extensive background check. Please complete the attached application and return it our office, the address for which is listed on the final page of the application. Once your application is received, you will be contacted to schedule an initial interview.
Please feel free to contact us directly with any questions. We appreciate your interest in wanting to make a difference in the life of a child!
